Your Voice Your Library Surveys!

Help us identify what you love, what you need, and how we can make your experience better!

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC), your state agency, is conducting a study to help us understand who uses which library and why. This project is the first of its kind in Massachusetts. Its goal is to get a broad overview of who is going to which library for what reason. Reasons may include specific programs, facilities, proximity to a workplace, parking, among others. This information can assist in identifying regional patterns, and developing service models for sustainable library services in all communities both large and small.  The goal is to level the playing field for all sizes of libraries in the Commonwealth and ensure that every patron across the state is getting what they need from their local libraries.  The survey may also effect the way in which future libraries are designed and constructed, in order to ensure the best service possible in the future, as well.

Through August 2017, MBLC is asking all library patrons to
participate in our Massachusetts Public Library Patron Survey. It should only take 8-10 minutes to complete, and is completely anonymous.  Click on the link below to access the survey:

Alternatively, you can come into the Library (our or any other in the Commonwealth) and fill out a paper copy of the survey.  We can also help you access the survey in Spanish or Chinese, if that makes it easier for you.

Participants have the option to provide their email address and be entered into a drawing for an iPad Pro, to be awarded on September 15, 2017.  Three iPads will be given: one to a patron who lives in the eastern part of the state, one in the central area, and one in western Massachusetts.

Thank you in advance for helping us improve!
