The PeaPod, Peabody’s Free Community Seed Library, Returns for its 6th growing season on Monday, April 1!

Since 2019, Peabody gardeners have planted over 9,000 free packets of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds! This year, with the generous support of the Rotary Club of Peabody, the PeaPod returns!

Sprouting on Monday, April 1, at all 3 PIL locations, the 2024 PeaPod will offer a large selection of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds to help you start your summer garden, while supplies last.

Browse the available seed types on display in old card catalogs at the Main Library, South Branch, and West Branch, and take those display packets to the Public Service Desk, where Library staff will trade the sample packets for new, unopened packets packaged for the 2024 growing season.

We ask that everyone limit their selections to 5 packets of veggies/herbs and 5 packets of flowers per visit, and only 1 variety of a certain plant (i.e. one variety/type of tomato, one variety/type of sunflower), to help the seed packets last as long as possible and reach the largest number of gardeners.

you have everything you need.” -Cicero
