The Peabody Institute Library Foundation
The mission of the Peabody Institute Library Foundation is to promote, maintain, preserve and enhance the activities and programs of the Peabody Institute Library.
Window SPonsorship PRogram
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Peabody Institute Library Foundation, I am writing to invite you to participate in the Foundation’s Window Sponsorship Program. This past year, thanks in part to the generosity of our sponsors, the Foundation supported lectures and concerts for adults, children’s programming, the Creativity Lab makerspace, conservation of the Library’s Audubon Prints, and space improvements to better deliver free programming and services at the Library.
The eighth year of the Adopt-a-Window Project expired at the end of December. We are now reserving space for sponsors for 2020. Your $500 donation would entitle you to recognition under one of the beautiful historic windows in the Main Library as well as your nameplate on the Donor Board for 2020, and an invitation to our donor reception in early 2020.
The Peabody Institute Library Foundation, Inc. is established as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization. Your donation, deductible to the extent of the law, will help the Foundation promote, maintain, preserve, and enhance the collection, activities and programs of the Peabody Institute Library, a great cornerstone of our community. The Foundation’s success in its mission would not be possible without charitable donations from members of our community and those that value the services provided by the Peabody Institute Library.
If you are interested in supporting the Foundation in this manner, please complete and return the application via mail, fax or email, to Interim Library Director Cate Merlin.
Thank you for your support of the Peabody Institute Library Foundation, Inc.
Very truly yours,
Create Your Own Legacy!
The Peabody Institute Library’s history is firmly rooted in the legacy of giving. George Peabody’s gift to the citizens of Peabody began with a $20,000 commitment to the residents of the Town of South Danvers. One hundred fifty-five years later, the gift continues to enrich the residents of Peabody in ways George Peabody may never have imagined!
Today the Peabody Institute Library serves its large and diverse community by offering a wide variety of print and electronic resources on virtually any subject imaginable. The library also offers a wide scope of programming targeted to all residents of Peabody – from infants to senior citizens!
Why Should I Donate to the Peabody Institute Library Foundation?
Your donation to a 501(c)3 organization provides great tax benefits.
The Foundation can maximize the value of your donation by investing in higher-yield funds.
The Peabody Institute Library Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. Your donation is fully tax-deductible. All proceeds support the Peabody Institute Library.
Types of Gifts
Your gift can be structured in several different ways. You may want to honor the memory of a loved friend or relative, celebrate the life of a newborn, or honor the accomplishments of a friend. Funds may be named or established anonymously.
Endowed gifts may be restricted to certain activities or purchases – programming, furniture, capital projects, children’s books, music, foreign language materials, to name just a few examples. Please consider an unrestricted gift that can be used to accomplish goals of the Foundation in support of the mission of the Peabody Institute Library.
Endowed funds may be established with your gift of $5,000 or more. The donor may name the fund and establish the purpose for which it is created. Each capital addition to the fund increases its value. The expendable portion of the fund is the interest earned, in effect creating a permanent fund in honor of your designee or for a specific purpose.
The Peabody Institute Library Foundation Board of Directors appreciates your gift in any amount. Your contribution will be used to purchase materials, support special projects or provide programming in general subject areas at your discretion.
Please consider the Peabody Institute Library Foundation as you prepare your estate plan. Your attorney or financial planner can assist you in structuring your gift for maximum tax benefit.
