Why Programming?

Theoretically Speaking:

1. Programming is the best way to be visible in your community.

2. Programming is the new way to survive and thrive; it is the new way to be relevant. Programming statistics can be a way to show library trustees, city councils, and the public that the library is still a relevant and vibrant place.

Practically Speaking:

1. Library programs mean new faces.

2. Programs are great for publicity

3. Programs beget programs. When people see the wonderful opportunities the library offers, they will be more inclined to join the Friends group or make a donation to the library.

4. Programs increase materials circulation.

5. Programming creates library advocates. (See point one above.)
