Teen Read-a-Thon a Success at Peabody Institute Library
Local teens used traditional and contemporary options in the latest Peabody Institute Library Read-a-Thon on February 21. Twenty-five teenagers each read for several hours, most staying for the full 6 hours of the marathon. While some teens read from traditional books, others chose to use e-readers such as the Kindle. This upcoming generation’s integration of new and old adds another dimension to the Peabody Library’s efforts to make technology accessible to the community.
Together, the teens raised over $400 which will be donated to the Friends of the Peabody Institute Library and used towards future library programs.
